Data Retention

SkillMark commits to the data-retention windows described below. These are public commitments about how long we keep each type of information we hold, and the path for requesting deletion. We may tighten these windows over time, but we will not silently extend them.

How long we keep each type of data

• Candidate assessment activity — your submitted code, the granular event log of your session, and your AI chat transcripts — and screen recordings: retained while the related hiring decision is active and for 12 months after that decision is closed, so we can support audit and dispute resolution. After that period the data is deleted or anonymized.
• AI-generated analysis reports and scores: retained for the same lifecycle as the assessment data they are derived from. When the underlying assessment data is deleted or anonymized, the analysis derived from it is treated the same way.
• Aggregate and anonymized analytics (containing no personal data): may be retained indefinitely. Because this information cannot be tied back to an individual, we keep it to understand and improve how the product performs.
• Lead and waitlist data (the name, email, company, and message you submit through our waitlist or demo-request forms): retained until the lead is closed or the person requests deletion.

Requesting deletion

A candidate or user can request deletion of their personal data by emailing hello@skillmark.ai. We honor verified deletion requests within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records or where the data has already been irreversibly anonymized (in which case there is no personal data left to delete).
